What we are looking for:

• Do you have 10+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer, particularly in a fabrication environment?
• Are you proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, RAM Structural System, and Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)?
• Do you have experience using any of the following software: Risa 2D, Risa 3D, SAP 2000, or ETABS (experience is preferred but not mandatory)?
• Can you demonstrate your experience in performing structural analyses, designing steel and transportation structures, and preparing technical reports, calculations, and construction drawings?
• Have you previously contributed to successful tender submissions by ensuring complete and accurate documentation?

Responsibilities:

• Performing structural analysis and engaging in the design of steel and/or transportation structures for both new construction and rehabilitation
• Preparing technical/design reports and calculations packages
• Preparing construction drawings and specifications
• Attending design meetings and site inspections with our clients, subconsultants, and partners on an as- needed basis
• Interacting and collaborating with our in-house drafters and other engineers
• Designing various structures and producing contract documents for various building types, retaining walls, foundations, and wastewater treatment plant
• Communicates with other departments to ensure all documentation required is contained within the tender submission.
• Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.
• Prepares construction budget by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.
• Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
• Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
• Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.
• Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Prepares draft tender documents to ensure all systems and components of the tender are included
• Interprets & review system drawings to identify any difference to tender requirements and raise queries against specification.
• Construes and follow company tendering processes and procedures to ensure all aspects of tenders are met including relevant discipline codes and standards.
• Reviews the design outputs for compliance with contractual requirement.
• Gathers opinion of the project team and fabrication team on the engineering details to prepare final controlled documents of tender
• Assess the impact due to design changes and revision works due to client instructions.
• Ensures the project output meeting to the requirement of codes and specifications.
• Would be responsible for the filling of various tenders with all the formalities.
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
• Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program
• 10+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer in a fabrication environment.
• Proficient in Revit AutoCAD RAM Structural System and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience in Risa 2D, Risa 3D, SAP 2000
• E. preferred but not required
• Experience in ETABS, is preferred but not required
• Able to work under pressure to achieve agreed deadlines
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ingenuity to unscramble the specifications
• Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
• Be dignified and modest in explaining his work and the merits
• Perform service only in the area of his competence and accept the limitations
• Willingness to learn and scrupulous in work with professional ethics
